Ummet was the food taster for King Aegon II Targaryen.[1]
Appearance and Character
Ummet was a grossly fat man.[1]
History
After the death of King Aegon II, several names were brought up as the person who put the poison in the king's wine. Ummet as Aegon's own food taster was considered a likely candidate. Whilst the hand that poisoned Aegon's Arbor red will never be known, there is no doubt that it was done at the behest of Larys Strong. Ummet was later murdered by men acting on Ser Perkin the Flea's orders.[2] Mushroom claims to have seen Ummet's murder and was forced to hide in a barrel of flour to avoid sharing the same fate. Archmaester Gyldayn considers this only one of the fool's many untrusworthy stories.[1]
