A Feast for Crows
The ward of Lord Gyles Rosby refuses Lady Falyse Stokeworth and her husband Ser Balman Byrch when they seek shelter at Rosby on their way to King's Landing. Falyse believes that the ward will try to claim Rosby when Gyles passes away, although she feels that Rosby should instead pass to herself and Balman.
After Grand Maester Pycelle informs Cersei that Gyles has died, Cersei contrives to seize his gold, lands, and castle. Pycelle begins to object, telling her again that Gyles had a ward, but she orders the hesitant Pycelle to tell the ward that Gyles’s dying wish was that all his lands and wealth go to Cersei's son, King Tommen I Baratheon.
A Dance with Dragons
The Rosby inheritance is brought up during the small council meeting in the Red Keep's throne room. According to Pycelle, six claims have been put forward, but the council, led by Ser Kevan Lannister, decides to settle the issue at a later date as they have more pressing matters to deal with.
