Warden of the Southern Marches is a warden title used in the riverlands.

A Storm of Swords

During the War of the Five Kings, Robb Stark, the young King in the North and King of the Trident, marches north from Riverrun to attend the wedding of Lord Edmure Tully at the Twins and to retake Moat Cailin.[1] Robb creates the title Warden of the Southern Marches for Ser Brynden Tully, who remains behind at Riverrun, and the king tasks his great uncle with holding the Trident.[1]
A Feast for Crows
Brynden continues to hold Riverrun for House Stark after Robb's death in the Red Wedding.[2] Ser Jaime Lannister resolves the siege of Riverrun, but Brynden is able to escape before the castle falls to the Iron Throne.[3]
