Synopsis

Ned, dreaming from the effects of the milk of the poppy, remembers the events at the Tower of Joy: seven facing three. The three Kingsguard missing at the Trident and the Red Keep were sent by Rhaegar to guard the Tower. These were no ordinary Kingsguard, but Ser Gerold Hightower, the White Bull and lord commander, Ser Arthur Dayne, the Sword of Morning, and Ser Oswell Whent. The seven are Howland Reed, Lord Willam Dustin, Ethan Glover, Martyn Cassel, Theo Wull, and Ser Mark Ryswell) There are sad moments here, as these men were legends, but they would not bend the knee despite Rhaegar having been killed; they are the Kingsguard, and the Kingsguard do not flee, and they had sworn to a vow. All but Eddard and Howland die vanquishing the legendary Kingsguard. He is awoken while dreaming of making his promise to his dying sister Lyanna at the Tower of Joy.
