The Cities of the Bloodless Men are said to lie in the plains of far eastern Essos, southeast of the Dry Deep and northeast of the Mountains of the Morn. Farther to the south is the Hidden Sea.[1] The cities are said to be inhabited by a people pale as the dead. Some travelers claim the inhabitants are corpses who have been drained of blood and returned to life through dark rites.[2] The place is actually called Carpthia and has the shivering sea to the north, the endless mountains to the east, and the Saffron straits to the south.
