Ser Erryk Cargyll was a knight of House Cargyll. He was a member of the Kingsguard during the reign of Viserys I.[1]

History

Erryk was the twin brother of Ser Arryk Cargyll, who was also a member of the Kingsguard.

Erryk and his brother Arryk were both unhorsed by Criston Cole at the tourney at Maidenpool in 105 AC.[2]

In the year 120 AC King Viserys I made Erryk Princess Rhaenyra Targaryen's sworn shield, replacing Ser Harwin Strong.[2]

After the death of Viserys, Erryk joined Ser Steffon Darklyn and Ser Lorent Marbrand in siding with the blacks and joined the Queensguard of Rhaenyra Targaryen, instead of supporting King Aegon II Targaryen. Erryk slew and was slain by his brother during the Dance of the Dragons, as they had chosen opposite sides in the civil war.[3] They supposedly had tears on their cheeks when they gave each other their mortal wounds.[4]
