Ser Harrold was likely from a minor branch of House Darklyn. Ser Harrold served as a squire to Ser Steffon Darklyn.

When Rhaenyra Targaryen fled King's Landing Ser Harrold Darke managed to persuade Lady Meredyth Darklyn to allow the queen within her walls upon the condition that she would not remain for long.
After Rhaenyra sold her crown Ser Harold urged her to seek refuge with Lady Arryn in the Vale, Her Grace refused his council and she and her party sailed for Dragonstone.
