House Codd is a noble house from the Iron Islands. Their motto is "Though All Men Do Despise Us."[1][2] Their sigil depicts a silver codfish.[3]

The Codds are not a well-regarded house among the ironborn;[4] their men are thought to be thieves and cowards and their women "wantons" who practice incest with their fathers and brothers.[3]

Recent Events

A Feast for Crows

Left-Hand Lucas attaches himself to Euron Greyjoy when Euron declares himself King of the Iron Islands.[1] The Codds attend the kingsmoot on Old Wyk; Eldred Codd plays the finger dance with Qarl the Maid and loses during the festivities.[4] Lucas supports Euron during the choosing, and he takes the dragon horn from Cragorn after it is blown.[5]

Lucas is among those feasting in the hall of Lord Hewett's castle after the taking of the Shields. He wears a tapestry he tore from the wall. After the feast he rapes one of Lord Humfrey Hewett's daughters.[6]

Dagon Codd is one of the many members of House Codd left to defend Moat Cailin when Victarion departs for the kingsmoot. Dagon is killed by Adrack Humble for refusing to accept the terms of surrender offered by Theon Greyjoy on behalf of Ramsay Bolton.[3]

Bloodless Tom sails with the Iron Fleet to Slaver's Bay.[7]
