History
The greatest member of the house was Ser Criston Cole, the son of the steward at Blackhaven, the seat of House Dondarrion. Criston became the Lord Commander of the Kingsguard under Viserys I Targaryen. Although Viserys had wanted his successor to be Rhaenyra Targaryen, Criston placed Aegon II Targaryen on the Iron Throne and began the civil war known as the Dance of the Dragons. For that Criston was named the Kingmaker.[1]
