House Dustin of Barrowton is a noble house from the north. Their castle is Barrow Hall in Barrowton and their arms portray two rusted longaxes with black shafts crossed, a black crown between their points, on yellow.[1] Their words are not known.

History

The Dustins claim descent from the First King of the First Men and the Barrow Kings of the barrowlands, which they honor with the inclusion of a rusted crown in their sigil.[2]

Denys Snow died in the service of Prince Aegon Targaryen during the Battle Beneath the Gods Eye.[3]

House Dustin supported Rhaenys Targaryen in the Great Council of 101 AC at Harrenhal. Lord Roderick Dustin led two thousand northern soldiers, known as the Winter Wolves, during the Dance of the Dragons.[4]

Lord Willam Dustin was one of the six companions that fought alongside Eddard Stark at the Tower of Joy.[5] His bones were buried in Dorne.[6]

Maester Aemon sends a raven to Barrowton in a plea for help from the Dustins to defend Castle Black from wildlings.[7]

A Dance with Dragons

The Ryswells and the Dustins surprise the ironborn on the Fever River, putting their longships to torch.[8] Ramsay Bolton and Hother Umber ride south to join the Dustin and Ryswell forces, preparing an attack on Moat Cailin.[8] Lady Barbrey Dustin and her vassal, Lord Harwood Stout, host the Boltons at Barrowton.[9] Later at Winterfell, during the inquiries into the murder of Little Walder Frey, Barbrey reminds Ser Aenys Frey that House Dustin lost men during the Red Wedding and that "the North remembers" the crimes committed by House Frey against them.[10]
