House Errol of Haystack Hall is a noble house from the Stormlands. It is one of the principal houses sworn to House Baratheon.[1]

Neither their arms or their words appear in the text. According to semi-canon sources they blazon their shield as a yellow haystack on orange.[2]

  • House Errol is one of the principal houses of the Stormlands.
  • House Errol is one of the houses from the Stormlands that supported King Renly I when the War of the Five Kings started, but turned to Stannis I after his death.
  • Ser Cortnay Penrose acknowledged the presence the great lords Estermont, Errol and Varner during his parley with Stannis.
  • In the appendices of A Clash of Kings, Shyra Errol is listed as one of the lords bannermen of Renly. However she does not appear in the appendices from A Storm of Swords and A Feast for Crows under Stannis, suggesting that she left him after the defeat at the Battle of the Blackwater.
