Neither their arms or their words appear in the text. In a semi-canon source they blazon their banner as two bronze keys crossed over a white pale on purple.[1]

A Song of Ice and Fire

  • Ser Mallador Locke joins the Night's Watch expedition commanded by Lord Mormont. He is in charge of the baggage train and the packhorses.
  • Lord Ondrew Locke excuses himself for not being able to help to Rodrik Cassel against the ironborn because he is too old to dare the journey.
  • At one point, the acting Hand of the King Tyrion planned to exchange Ser Donnel Locke and Lord Medger Cerwyn for Tion Frey, but the negotiations failed. With all probability Ser Donnel had been captured at the Battle of the Green Fork. Also he was also held at Harrenhal and was freed by Roose Bolton, because he served in the northern army later in the war.
  • When the Watch received news of the approach of the Wildlings to the Fist of the First Men, Ser Mallador Locke supported retreating back to the Wall.
  • Ser Mallador was not among the survivors of the expedition to return to the Wall.
  • The Lockes suffered heavy losses when caught on the wrong side of the Red Fork when attacked by Ser Gregor Clegane while going to the Twins to attend Lord Edmure's wedding.[2][3]
  • Ser Donnel Locke was slain at the Red Wedding. Catelyn saw him being taken by crossbow bolts.
  • Maester Aemon sent a raven to Oldcastle in a plea for help to defend Castle Black from wildlings.
  • Sybelle Locke and her children were held captive at Deepwood Motte by Asha Greyjoy.
