House Lorch is a house of landed knights from the westerlands.[1] They blazon their shields with a black manticore on white, beneath a crimson chief with three gold coins.[2][3] Their motto and seat have not been revealed yet.

History

During the Faith Militant uprising, Ser Lyonel Lorch fought in the battle at the Great Fork alongside Lord Rupert Falwell and other knights from the westerlands and riverlands, as well as hundreds of Poor Fellows, against the royal army led by King Maegor I Targaryen himself.[4] Maegor the Cruel later used Balerion to set aflame the seat of the Lorches.[4]

According to a semi-canon source, Ser Amory Lorch threw the last Lord Tarbeck, a three-year-old boy, down a well during the Reyne-Tarbeck rebellion.[5] During the Sack of King's Landing, Amory stabbed Princess Rhaenys Targaryen to death.[6]

Recent Events

A Clash of Kings

Ser Amory Lorch orders the attack on the holdfast that Yoren and his recruits stay in.[2] Afterward, Jaqen H'ghar, Rorge and Biter enter his service.[7]

When Lord Tywin Lannister leaves Harrenhal to return to the westerlands, he leaves Amory as the castellan. After the fall of Harrenhal to northmen and the duplicitous Brave Companions, Amory is thrown in the bear pit to die.[8][9]

A Storm of Swords

The revived Lord Beric Dondarrion recalls that Amory once captured a pair of innocent beekeepers at Rushing Falls and told Beric that he intended to kill them if Beric did not surrender himself. When Beric did so, Amory hanged him between the beekeepers.[10]

A Feast for Crows

Ser Roger Hogg tells Ser Jaime Lannister how Amory attacked his towerhouse at Sow's Horn even though Roger is a bannerman to a house sworn to King's Landing.[11]
