History
The arms of the house and the name of its castle refer to the fact that the founder of the house slew there a King of the Reach.[2]

He was subsequently sent to the Wall in golden fetters, together with five other defeated Kings of Dorne.[3][4]
Ser Michael Manwoody came to court with Princess Mariah Martell, following her marriage to Prince Daeron Targaryen. He became a trusted servant to King Daeron II, and eventually married Princess Elaena Targaryen.[5]
