House Royce of the Gates of the Moon is a cadet branch of House Royce of Runestone. Recently, the Lord Protector of the Vale, Petyr Baelish, raised them to lordship. In his words to Nestor Royce, Lord Baelish granted them the lordship "for their loyal service", but privately to Alayne he admitted to "buying their support."[1]
A younger son of Lord Raymar Royce, a previous lord, married the sister of Eddard Stark's grandfather. Catelyn Tully considers making one of their descendants heir apparent for her son.[2]
