History
Lord Willam Stackspear was chosen by lot in a Great Council to become a regent for Aegon III Targaryen.[3] Noted for his love of hawking, Willam was considered an inoffensive, though undistinguished, choice. When Aegon III came of age later that year, he dismissed Stackspear from his office.[4]
In 244 AC, Jason Lannister deflowered Alys Stackspear, the maiden daughter of Lord Stackspear, getting the girl with child. In a rare display of firmness, Lord Tytos Lannister compelled his brother to wed Alys, though the girl died in childbirth, giving birth to Damon. Under Lord Tytos' weak rule, Lord Stackspear doubled the taxes on his smallfolk, then hired a company of Volantene sellswords to enforce his taxation.[5]
Lord Stackspear supported Ser Tywin Lannister when he suppressed the Reyne-Tarbeck rebellion.[5]
Recent Events
A Clash of Kings
Ser Alyn Stackspear is with Lord Tywin Lannister's army at Harrenhal, and Arya Stark hears rumours that he might be responsible for the gaoler's wife being with child.[6]
A Feast for Crows
A banner of House Stackspear is among those gathered to escort the corpse of Tywin back to Casterly Rock. Ser Jaime Lannister spots Alyn riding at a quintain in the yard of the Red Keep after the funeral procession departs.[1]
