History

Wild Wyl Waynwood was a part of Lord Arryn's van during the Battle of the Redgrass Field and was cut down by Daemon Blackfyre himself.[4]

Recent Events

A Game of Thrones

Lady Anya Waynwood's heir, Ser Morton Waynwood, is a suitor to Lady Lysa Arryn after Lord Jon Arryn's death. When Catelyn Tully reaches the Bloody Gate with Tyrion Lannister, their group is saved by a sortie led by Ser Donnel Waynwood. While riding up to the gate, Donnel ceremonially asks permission to enter the Vale.

Lady Anya is at the Eyrie during Tyrion's trial by battle with both her sons, and predicts an easy victory for Ser Vardis Egen over Bronn.

A Clash of Kings

Ser Donnel becomes Knight of the Gate after Ser Brynden Tully left the post vacant.

A Storm of Swords

When discussing King Robb Stark's succession, his mother Catelyn Tully recalls that Lord Eddard Stark's grandfather had a sister who married a younger son of Lord Raymar Royce and had three daughters, one of whom married a Waynwood.[5]

The Waynwoods support Lord Yohn Royce when he pressures Lady Lysa to enter to the War of the Five Kings.

A Feast for Crows

Lady Anya Waynwood is one of the Lords Declarant who try to depose Petyr Baelish, the Lord Protector of the Vale. Petyr doubts about being able to turn Lady Anya to his side, but considers her too old to pose a threat. To everyone's astonishment, Anya attends the wedding of Lyonel Corbray orchestrated by Petyr in Gulltown. In exchange for the purchase of her debts, Anya agrees to betroth her ward, Harry the Heir, to Petyr's bastard daughter, Alayne Stone, and risk Lord Royce's wrath.
