A Game of Thrones
He accompanies Lord Eddard Stark to King's Landing when Eddard is named Hand of the King.[1]
Varlys and Jacks make up the escort for Eddard Stark when he visits the armorer Tobho Mott and discovers Gendry, one of Robert Baratheon’s bastard children.[2].
A Clash of Kings
Jacks somehow survives the slaughter when Cersei consolidates power following King Robert's death and he is imprisoned. He is later sent with Cleos Frey when he is returning Tyrion Lannister's counter terms and Lord Eddard's bones to Robb Stark. He is then put under the command of Hallis Mollen.[3]
A Storm of Swords
He was sent north with Hallis Mollen's men to escort Lord Eddard's bones back to Winterfell.[4] Although before they got to Moat Cailin, the Ironborn had invaded the North. Hallis, Jacks and the other guardsman's whereabouts are currently unknown.
