Jhogo is a Dothraki warrior assigned to the khas of Daenerys Targaryen within the khalasar of Khal Drogo.

Character and Appearance

Jhogo is sixteen and very thin with a faint shadow of a mustache. He is fearless and quick to laugh.[2]

Recent Events

A Game of Thrones

Jhogo is assigned by Khal Drogo to guard Daenerys. Viserys Targaryen attacks his sister in the Dothraki Sea, only to have Jhogo use his whip to separate them.[3] When an assassin attempts to poison Daenerys in Vaes Dothrak, Jhogo prevents him from getting away. He is given a tall, grey stallion by Drogo as a reward.[4]

When Daenerys intends to have Drogo healed using blood magic by Mirri Maz Duur, his bloodriders attempt to stop it. In the ensuing fight, Jhogo and Rakharo team up to kill Haggo.[2] Daenerys names Jhogo ko and asks him to become one of her bloodriders with Rakharo and Aggo, offering him the silver-handled whip she received as a present during her wedding. Jhogo is at first reluctant, but he is the first to accept after the dragons are born.[5]

A Clash of Kings

After wandering through the desert, Daenerys's khalasar stumbles upon an abandoned city, which they name Vaes Tolorro. While the rest of the khalasar rests and recovers from their travels, Daenerys sends her bloodriders to see what lies around the abandoned city. Jhogo is the last to return, having found the city of Qarth, and is accompanied by three representatives of the city, Pyat Pree, Quaithe and Xaro Xhoan Daxos.[6]

A Storm of Swords

Jhogo is present when Daenerys purchases and turns the Unsullied upon the slavers of Astapor. He, along with Aggo and Rakharo, lead the Dothraki against the slave army of Yunkai and fight in the siege of Meereen. These victories add three new bells to Jhogo's braid.

A Feast for Crows

Jhogo and the other Bloodriders continue to serve their khaleesi.

A Dance with Dragons

Aggo, Jhogo and Rakharo are commanded by Daenerys to use her khalasar to subdue the hinterlands of Meereen and end the slavery there.[7] When peace is signed between Yunkai and Meereen, Jhogo – along with Groleo, Daario Naharis, Hero and three kin to the new King of Meereen, Hizdahr zo Loraq – are given over to the Yunkish camp to vouch for the safety of the seven Yunkai commanders who are allowed to enter the city of Meereen. Jhogo remains a potential hostage of the Yunkish.
