Jon Umber, better known as Smalljon Umber or the Smalljon in comparison to his father, is the eldest son of Greatjon Umber and is the heir to Last Hearth.[1]

Appearance

Despite his name, Smalljon Umber is nearly as tall as his father and might become taller still. Like his father, he is strongly built.

Recent Events

A Game of Thrones

Smalljon Umber is one of the thirty highborn warriors who forms Robb Stark's personal guard. He fights with this unit during the Battle of the Whispering Wood.[2]

A Storm of Swords

The Smalljon accompanies Robb during his invasion of the Westerlands. At the Battle of the Crag, he and Black Walder Frey scale the walls while Robb attacks the main gate.[3]

The Smalljon guards Robb during the Red Wedding, throwing a table over his wounded king to block the crossbow bolts that rain down on them. He is wounded by a crossbowman while running for his swordbelt, going to his knees. He is killed when Dreadfort men pour into the hall, and one beheads him with two swings of his axe.[4]
