History
During the Dance of the Dragons, Lord Ormund Hightower led the siege of Longtable. Lady Caswell of Bitterbridge sent him the dragon egg of Prince Maelor Targaryen, who had just been murdered in the town, in hopes it might appease him. The siege of Longtable eventually ended when the widowed Lady Merryweather yielded. Lord Ormund took the castle's wealth and food before marching for Bitterbridge to sack the town and revenged Maelor's death.[1] Blacks from Longtable helped to fortify Tumbleton before the First Battle of Tumbleton.[1]
Russell Merryweather was born at Longtable[2] in 293 AC or 294 AC.[4]
