Lord Bracken was Lord of Stone Hedge and head of House Bracken during the reign of Aegon IV Targaryen. His given name is as yet unknown. He had two daughters, Barba and Bethany Bracken.[1]
History
On King Aegon IV Targaryen's ascent to the Iron Throne in 172 AC, he named Lord Bracken as Hand of the King and openly took his daughter, Barba, as a mistress.[2]
While Queen Naerys Targaryen was lingering near death, the Hand talked openly of wedding his daughter to the king. After the queen’s recovery, the scandal proved Lord Bracken’s undoing, as young Prince Daeron and his uncle, Aemon the Dragonknight, forced Aegon to send him, his daughter and the king's bastard son away.[1]
After being sent from court and Melissa Blackwood replacing Barba as the king's new mistress, Lord Bracken and Barba started grooming his younger daughter, Bethany, to win the king's favor. In 177 AC she caught the king's eye, later taking her as a mistress.[1]
Lord Bracken was executed in 178 AC after Bethany was caught in bed with Ser Terrence Toyne a knight of the Kingsguard.[2]
