Lord Butterwell was the head of House Butterwell during the reigns of kings Viserys I and Aegon II Targaryen.[1]

History

At the start of the Dance of the Dragons, Lord Butterwell was one of the nobles arrested and put in the Red Keep's dungeons by Aegon II Targaryen's supporters for supporting his half-sister, Princess Rhaenyra Targaryen. When given the choice between swearing his allegiance to Aegon II or being killed by the King's Justice, Lord Butterwell, along with Lord Rosby and Lord Stokeworth, pledged his support to Aegon II.[1]

While Rosby and Stokeworth were executed by Rhaenyra after the fall of King's Landing,[2] Lord Butterwell is not mentioned again. It is unknown if he survived the war.

Notes

  1. It's unknown what lands he held. Lord Harroway's Town, which was given to the Butterwells during King Maegor I Targaryen's reign, was held by House Roote at the time of the Dance of the Dragons and Whitewalls was not built yet.
