Recent Events

A Storm of Swords

Lame Lothar was sent by his father to Riverrun with the response of the Twins concerning the reconciliation of House Stark with House Frey. There he placed the demands that Lord Edmure Tully was to marry a Frey and that the choice of the bride would be Lord Walder's. He returned to the Twins with King Robb Stark's acquiescence. When Robb went to the Twins to make amends with Lord Walder Frey over breaking his marriage promise, Lothar met him outside of the gate and behaved in a conciliatory manner.

In fact, Lothar was one of the prime engineers of the Red Wedding massacre that was about to occur and planned many of the key details of the Red Wedding with Roose Bolton, it was even Lothars idea to use The Rains of Castamere Song as a signal for the slaughter to begin.[3] According to Merrett Frey Lothar is more dangerous then most other members of House Frey.
