The Mad Huntsman is the owner of a pack of dogs from Stoney Sept and a member of the Brotherhood Without Banners. He seems to have command over the city. He is stocky, balding, weak-chinned and is considered quarrelsome.[1]

History

When the Lannisters attacked Stoney Sept, they raped his wife and sister, torched his crops, killed his sheep and slew six of his dogs and threw the carcasses down his well.[2]

Recent Events

A Storm of Swords

The Mad Huntsman alleviated the famine around Stoney Sept somewhat by bringing in a flock of sheep. After word spread that Ser Jaime Lannister had escaped Riverrun, the Mad Huntsman set out to seek him out.[3] He caught Sandor Clegane, but before he could put him in the crow cages, Sandor was claimed by the Brotherhood Without Banners. After a tense confrontation, the Mad Huntsman agreed to take Sandor before the Lightning Lord. Sandor is brought before Lord Beric Dondarrion where he defeats the Lightning Lord in a trial by battle. However his gold is confiscated and the Mad Huntsman, accompanied by Greenbeard is sent to buy grain south of the Mander with the gold.[4]
