A Clash of Kings

Ser Mandon Moore is on guard outside the chambers when the Small Council when Tyrion arrives with Bronn and Timett with a message from his father Tywin Lannister, who is then the Hand of the King, but now in Harrenhal with his army despite being commanded by Cersei to return to King's Landing. He refuses to let Tyrion in since Cersei had ordered them not to be disturbed. That Tyrion had a letter from Tywin Lannister has no effect, as does the threat of Tyrion’s companions, even when told that Bronn killed Ser Vardis Egen. After a bit of delay when Tyrion was thinking of forcing his way through, Ser Mandon allows only Tyrion to pass.[4]

Ser Mandon was among the escort for the party that saw Princess Myrcella off to Dorne. He guarded King Joffrey I when the mob went mad, abandoning Sansa though he was her sworn shield at the time.[5] During the Battle of the Blackwater, Ser Mandon was assigned to guard Tyrion Lannister.[6] During the battle, Ser Mandon attempted to kill Tyrion, managing to cause a severe injury in his face, but was pushed into the Blackwater Rush by Podrick Payne, where he drowned.[7]

After the battle, Tyrion is convinced Ser Mandon tried to kill him under Queen Cersei's orders.
