The moon is a natural satellite to the planet of A Song of Ice and Fire. One month can be referred to as a moon[1] or a moon's turn.[2]

Culture

The Mountains of the Moon are a range of mountains which surround the Vale of Arryn, and the sigil of House Arryn is the moon-and-falcon.[3] The Moon Brothers are one of the Vale mountain clans.[4] The Gates of the Moon is a castle at the foot of the Giant's Lance.[5] The Moon Door at the Eyrie is decorated with a crescent moon.[6] Lord Robert Arryn's silver brooch is a crescent moon.[7] The cloak of Ser Hugh of the Vale is trimmed with crescent moons.[8]
