Ser Rickard Thorne was a knight of House Thorne and a member of the Kingsguard during the reigns of Viserys I, and Aegon II Targaryen.[2]
History
He choose the side of King Aegon II Targaryen in the civil war known as the Dance of the Dragons.[2]
During the Fall of King's Landing, the Master of whisperers, Lord Larys Strong smuggled King Aegon II, Princess Jaehaera and Prince Maelor to safety. Ser Willis Fell and Ser Rickard Thorne accompanied them. Lord Larys led them out through a secret passage of Maegor's Holdfast, of which only he had knowledge. Rickard was put in charge of Prince Maelor and was commanded to see him safely to Oldtown.[2] They never made it; at Bitterbridge Ser Rickard was brought down by a mob, and Maelor was torn apart as the people of the mob each sought to claim him as their own prize.[1]
