Rodrik Greyjoy was a claimant Lord of the Iron Islands from House Greyjoy during the regency of King Aegon III Targaryen.[1]

History

Rodrik was a salt son of Lord Dalton Greyjoy, the Red Kraken.[1]

In 133 AC, Dalton was slain by one of his salt wives, Tess, at Faircastle. A bloody power struggle ensued on the Iron Islands. By law, the Seastone Chair fell to Rodrik's elder half-brother, Toron, but Rodrik's father's cousins raised him up as Lord of the Iron Islands. After half a year, Lady Johanna Lannister sent westermen to invade the Iron Islands in 134 AC. Rodrik was captured, gelded, and made a court fool to Johanna's son, Lord Loreon Lannister, at Casterly Rock.[1][2]

Quotes

A fine fool he proved, yet not half so foolish as his father.[2]
