Longspear Ryk is among the wildling raiders that chased Jon Snow and his brothers through the Skirling Pass.[2] After the confrontation, Rattleshirt orders Longspear Ryk and Ygritte to guard Jon after he turns his cloak.[3]

After Jon is told by Mance Rayder to join Tormund's force, Ryk and Ygritte abandon Rattleshirt and join Tormund too.[4]

Later on, Tormund Giantsbane informs Jon that Longspear stole his daughter Munda for a spearwife.[5]
