Shield of His People was a title assumed by King Aegon I Targaryen.

History

At the Aegonfort near the start of Aegon's Conquest, Rhaenys Targaryen hailed her brother and husband, Aegon the Conqueror, as King of All Westeros and Shield of His People.[1]

Later in the war, Aegon was proclaimed "King of the Andals, the Rhoynar, and the First Men, Lord of the Seven Kingdoms, and Protector of the Realm" by the High Septon at the Starry Sept in Oldtown.[1]
