Ser Simon Strong was a knight from House Strong during the Dance of the Dragons. He was the great-uncle to the ruling Lord Larys Strong and the castellan of Harrenhal.[1][2]
History
During the Dance of the Dragons, Simon was an old man. He surrendered Harrenhal at the sight of Caraxes, Prince Daemon Targaryen's dragon. Simon and his grandsons were then held as hostages by Daemon.[1]
Simon was freed from captivity when Lord Commander of the Kingsguard Ser Criston Cole recovered Harrenhal. Prince Aemond Targaryen, angry after the fall of King's Landing, believed Simon to be a traitor who had too easily yielded Harrenhal to Daemon, however. Aemond forced Simon into a duel, and then fed the aged knight's remains to Vhagar after Simon was slain. Aemond then ordered the executions of the remaining Strongs at Harrenhal.[2]
Family
Larys Strong was Simon's great-nephew.[2]
