A spearwife is a wildling woman who is also a warrior.
A Clash of Kings
A spearwife, Ygritte, is among the first wildlings to make contact with the Night's Watch members in patrol beyond the Wall; she meets Jon Snow and Qhorin Halfhand.[1][2]
A Storm of Swords
A significant number of Mance Rayder's troops is composed of spearwives, Ygritte among them.
A Dance with Dragons
A small group of spearwives (Holly, Rowan, Squirrel, Frenya, Myrtle and Willow Witch-eye) plays an important role in the events happening around Winterfell.[3][4][5][6][7]
