==Legend==
According to legend, Symeon was a knight who lost both of his eyes. He replaced them by putting star [[sapphire]]s in the empty sockets, or so the singers claim.{{Ref|aGoT|66}} He fought with a long staff with blades at both ends and would spin it in his hands to chop down two men at once.{{ref|agot|66}} He once visited the [[Nightfort]] where he saw [[hellhounds]] fighting.{{ref|asos|56}}

It may be possible that Symeon Star-Eyes was a man that became an [[Other]].  The "star sapphires in the empty eye sockets" may be referring to the blue glow of an Other's eyes. For if he literally had sapphires for eyes, how did he "see" hellhounds fighting at the Nightfort?
