Recent Events
A Storm of Swords
Taena accompanied her husband to King's Landing when Margaery Tyrell was betrothed to King Joffrey I.[3] She danced with several lords at the wedding feast of Sansa Stark. Lady Taena was called as a witness for the prosecution in the trial of Tyrion Lannister for the death of King Joffrey I. She told of how he saw Tyrion drop something into the wedding chalice.[4]
A Feast for Crows
Taena attended the funeral of Lord Tywin Lannister. There she caught the eye of Queen Cersei.[5] She approached Cersei during the wedding of Tommen I and Margaery Tyrell, confiding in Cersei and attempting to get into her good graces. She revealed that Cersei's maid Senelle was spying on her for Margaery Tyrell.[1] Taena allied herself with Cersei, feeding Cersei information[6][7][8] and sharing her bed on occasion.[9] After Cersei's imprisonment by the Faith of the Seven, Taena and her husband abandoned Cersei and fled back to Longtable. Cersei was relieved to learn of of the Merryweathers' departure from Qyburn , since Taena was privy to much incriminating information which could be used against her by her accusers of the newly zealous and militant Faith. [10]. Cersei assumed she need not fear that her former bedmaid and confidant would betray her under interrogation or torture.
