The taking of Stone Hedge[1] or storming of Stone Hedge[2] occurred near the start of Dance of the Dragons.
History
In response to House Blackwood's raids on his lands, Lord Humfrey Bracken sent his son, Ser Amos Bracken, to retaliate with a strong force. Amos was slain in the Battle of the Burning Mill, however, and Ser Raylon Rivers led the green survivors back to House Bracken's territory.[2]
Prince Daemon Targaryen, meanwhile, led a strong host of Darrys, Freys, Pipers, and Rootes against the Brackens' castle, Stone Hedge. With most of the Bracken forces away with Amos and Raylon, the blacks stormed the castle and captured Humfrey with his remaining children, his third wife, and his lowborn paramour. Raylon yielded to Daemon upon returning to Stone Hedge, ending green strength in the riverlands.[2]
