Wex Pyke is the bastard son of Sargon Botley of Lordsport. He is the squire of Theon Greyjoy. He is twelve years old and was born dumb.[1]

Recent Events

A Clash of Kings

Wex became the squire of Theon Greyjoy as part of the deal that Theon struck to buy a horse from Lord Botley.[2] As squire to Theon, Wex raided the Stony Shore and helped capture Winterfell with him. When Bran and Rickon Stark disappeared, Wex was made a part of the search party.[3] He is the first to stand alongside Theon when the Northmen come to retake the castle.

A Dance With Dragons

He survived the Sack of Winterfell carried out by Ramsay Snow by climbing the Heart Tree in the godswood. He witnesses the departure of Bran and Rickon Stark along with their direwolves and companions. He then proceeded to follow Rickon, Osha and Shaggy to Skagos, before returning to civilisation. He is captured and taken to White Harbour, where they realise he is not dumb, only perhaps mute. They begin to teach him his letters, asking only yes or no questions. The truth of the sack of Winterfell begins to come out, his keepers deliver him to Wyman Manderly, Lord of White Harbor who begins to hatch a plan to seek out and reinstate Rickon as The Stark, the Prince of Winterfell.[4]
