The Winter Wolves collectively refers to the northmen that supported the claim of Rhaenyra Targaryen and joined the blacks against the greens during the Dance of the Dragons. [1]

During the civil war the Starks supported the blacks. Lord Roderick Dustin led 2,000 northern soldiers during the war while the Manderlys had knights from White Harbor who also supported the claim of Rhaenyra Targaryen.
